Some people photograph badly in a studio and well on a pavement. Standing still against a background asks you to perform stillness; walking, sitting on a step, turning because someone called your name — those give a photographer something real to catch, and they give you something to do other than face a lens.

Seventy-five minutes covers two locations within walking distance of each other, chosen for the hour you book rather than for how they look in a guidebook. A courtyard that is beautiful at ten is a dark well at four, and the photographer has usually stood in both.

This is the session for a personal site, an author photograph, a profile that should not look like a badge, or simply for having a decent photograph of yourself for the first time in a decade. Thirty retouched photographs arrive in a private gallery within 48 to 72 hours.
