In the city the whole palette is one warm limestone, which is unusually forgiving: almost anything you wear stands out against it. Out in the vineyards the constraint is the estate, not the light — the property fixes the access, the hours and whether there is any shelter, and those three answers shape the entire day.

Locations

Best photo locations in Bordeaux

Where to shoot in Bordeaux, when the light is best, and what each place needs.

  • Place de la Bourse et le miroir d’eau

    Best time
First light, or after 22:00 in summer
    Permits
Free; the mirror is drained overnight and in frost

The reflection everyone comes for, and it only exists when the mirror is filled — which it is not overnight, not in freezing weather and not during maintenance. Worth checking the same week rather than assuming.

  • Jardin public

    Best time
    Late afternoon
    Permits
    Free — municipal park

An iron footbridge, a pond and old trees, five minutes from the centre. The default choice for families and for anyone who wants green rather than stone.

When to visit Bordeaux for photos

September and early October are the best weeks of the year here, and also the busiest: the harvest is in, the vines have turned and every estate is booked. May and June are quieter with longer evenings. Winter is wet, and the water mirror on place de la Bourse is at its best precisely then.

  • “We booked a couple session during our weekend in Bordeaux and couldn't be happier. Our photographer knew the city extremely well and suggested several beautiful locations. We received a fantastic collection of edited photos and loved how natural they looked.”

Photographer in Bordeaux: your questions

We are marrying at a château outside the city.

Then the estate sets half the constraints, and we contact it as soon as you book: permitted access, imposed hours, and whether a genuine wet-weather shelter exists. Those three answers determine the running order more than anything we would choose ourselves.

How much does a photographer in Bordeaux cost?

Sessions in Bordeaux start at €150 (corporate headshots). For example: wedding from €1,200, couple session from €190, family session from €200. The price covers the session, the editing and a private gallery, and it is confirmed in writing before you book.

How quickly will we receive our photos?

Your edited photographs arrive in a private online gallery within 48–72 hours of your session in Bordeaux. 24-hour delivery is available as an option.
